, the much loved NOLA restaurant born and bred in Astoria is almost back, and we are getting ready to serve the most authentic NOLA fare to our ardent fans who have been patiently waiting for the re-opening. Sugar Freak’s home recipes brings New York as close to Bourbon Street as one can get.
Living in larger quarters, Sugar Freak’s offerings moved up a notch, adding new signatures such as a selection of Seafood Boils, Waffle Tacos, and Beignet Eggs Benedict to the extensive menu. Diners will also experience freshly baked cakes and pies to go along with the lauded Deep Fried Banana Pudding, and Traditional Dump Cake.
The authentic homegrown feel of the restaurant has not changed and every piece of furniture from the vintage plates on the walls to the tin ceiling has moved with them. Everything is upcycled, recycled, and repurposed.
Additionally, to add to the festive vibe, Sugar Freak is now a counter service restaurant, making ordering simple. Just show up, place your order and sit. We take care of the rest. For the first time in Sugar Freak’s life, there will be delivery, catering, and lunch service too. So more opportunity to get your Sugar Freak on!
